COVERGIRL Queen Latifah was also in attendance at Sunday’s 2016 Golden Globes. The singer-actress earned a coveted nomination for Best Actress in a Limited Series or Motion Picture with her role in Bessie.

Makeup artist Sam Fine shared the insider details for how he created Queen’s beauty look for an effortless, yet glamorous red carpet debut.

Every red carpet look begins with beautiful skin! I used COVERGIRL Queen Collection All Day Flawless 3-in-1 Foundation in Golden Honey. Not only does this liquid foundation blend varied tones, it also helps Latifah maintain a shine-free finish that will last throughout the night.

I often use several bronzers to achieve Latifah’s golden glow! COVERGIRL Queen Collection Natural Hue Bronzer in Brown Bronze matches her complexion perfectly. However, for a more dramatic effect, I use the same bronzer in Ebony Bronze along the outer perimeter of her face – hairline, cheekbones, etc – to add dimension and gently contour each feature. Lastly, I dusted a bit of COVERGIRL truBLEND Blush in Medium Rose on the apple of her cheeks for a soft pink glow!

I began by applying the deepest brown shade from the lashline to crease, then, layered a golden brown shade atop for a smooth transition to the creamiest beige shade used to highlight the brow bone. These shadows are super blendable, so the finish was a very subtle, deep brown smokey eye.

I reached for my new favorite mascara, COVERGIRL Plumpify Mascara by BlastPRO in Black on her upper and lower lashes for lifted, and fuller lashes! Definitely a must-have for the red carpet.
