As a believer and faithful christian, worship is very important to my walk with Christ. I wake up, praise God, and turn up the worship music on my drive to work. I enjoy everything from Contemporary Christian like Jesus Culture to Gospel like Kirk Franklin. The only worship genre that was missing in my life was hip hip and rap.

Growing up in the Bay Area listening to hip hop is second nature. However, being saved as an adult, the hip hop of today doesn’t correlate with my values and faith. It’s a shame turning on the radio and hearing non-stop cursing, the objectification of women, and lyrics about drugs and guns.

Luckily, I’ve come across a Christian rap group that gives true hip hop vibes without the negativity – Lyrical Praise. This Christian hip hop group has just released an new album, Summer Praise, that I’ve been listening to non-stop. I’ve finally found the hip hop I’ve been missing in my life; the best part – it’s Jesus centered.
